For Scanlon Dancers it’s not just about competing and winning – it’s about being part of a team and more importantly, being part of the Irish community. We hold classes throughout Birmingham, Stourport and Solihull from beginner up through championship level. Beginning from the age of 3 - the idea is to have fun and learn at the same time.
Trudy McGroarty, Activities Co-ordinator and staff are proud to announce that they will be running the following exciting program of events, so come along and join in and enjoy our welcoming atmosphere.
Monday- Computer Club: This is for all levels of ability-join us and find out about the mysteries of the keyboard. Sessions run for beginners, and for intermediates Refreshments given. Call for the timetable as spaces are available. We also take our activities into the community and are based at St Peter’s community Centre Tile Cross for seated exercise 11-12. All welcome We have Line dancing at Brandwood Community Centre Kings Heath 11.00-12
Tuesday -We haveLine dancing at the Tuesday Club which is based at the Irish Centre Digbeth 10.45am til 11.45 Line dancing session 2.30-3.30pm at St Anne’s Parish Centre Alcester Street
Wednesday - We have seated Exercise at the Warstock Community Centre from 11.30 to 12.30
Thursday Health Walk 11-11.45 from St Anne’s. Seated Exercise 11.30-12.pm Quiz 1.pm- 1.30pm Line dancing: 1.30pm –2.30pm for all abilities Laughter Yoga2.45pm-3.30pm Great fun to be had with this. (Boiled bacon and cabbage with a pudding, cost £2.00 served between 12pm and 1pm)
We also take our activities into the community and are based at Ambrose Barlow Lakey Lane Hall Green for seated exercise and Line Dancing on alternative weeks. Call for the timetable
Friday - Big bonanza bingo: 12-3.15pm be in it to win it! 10 page book plus additional flyers available (Fish and chips with a pudding, cost £2.00, served between 12.30 and 1.15pm) Take your pick 3.15-3.45pm.Open the box and you might be a winner! Money goes up each week if JACKPOT is not won.
We also take our activities into the community and are based at Fox hollies Forum Acocks Green – 11am Seated Exercise followed by a light lunch and in the afternoon we have Bingo and a Quiz. All are welcome.
We also organize outings on a regular basis. Health events are hosted here,external services come and provide information. You can also access our other many services.
